The waters of Tara are populated by salmonid types of fish, such as grayling (up to 2 kg), trout (up to 5 kg) and the huchen or Danube salmon (up to 3 kg).

On river districts from Splaviste (Sljivansko) to the mouth of Susica into Tara the fishing is permitted on certain days during certain periods by buying a one day fishing permit. All terms mentioned proscribes National Park ?Durmitor? which has control over The Tara River. In fishing artificial baits are used only, and the number of fish for harvesting is limited to 3 per one-day fishing permit.

On certain sections hiking along the coasts of Tara may not be easy because of the huge rocks and lush vegetation.
